Volkswagen declassified prototype of the new and modern CC with biometric navigation

Volkswagen has unveiled a new prototype, named Sports Coupe GTE Concept. The machine is equipped with a hybrid power plant and is able to pass on one tank of up to 1200 km. In addition, the manufacturer equipped the car unusual navigator that offers the route depending on the physical condition of the driver.

New Concept Sport Coupe GTE demonstrates not only the future of model CC, but also sets a new design language of the brand, say in Volkswagen. The novelty has received the body “of the four-door coupe with an avant-garde appearance” and was much larger than the current CC. The length of the vehicle was 4870 mm and wheelbase – 2841 mm (now CC these parameters are 4802 and 2711 mm, respectively).

More “compartment” novelty gives a small height – just 1,407 mm (10 mm below the current CC) and 21-inch wheels with low-profile tires of dimension 265/30. At the same time, the size of the luggage compartment concept is only 480 liters (586 against the new ‘Passat’ and 532 l in SS).

This is the first concept in the history of the brand, has received four-wheel drive without mechanical connection of the front and rear axle. The machine is driven by a hybrid propulsion system consisting of a 3.0-liter petrol V6 TSI direct injection, as well as additional electric motors in the transmission and the rear axle.

Kickback engine reaches 299 hp and torque – 500 Nm. At the same time, the motor built in the six-step “robot» DSG developing 40 kW (54 hp) and 220 Nm, and an additional rear motor “outputs” to 85 kW (116 hp) and 270 Nm.

Volkswagen Sports Coupe GTE uses the front electric motor as a generator for the rear when the battery is fully discharged. This principle is called the VW electric prop shaft.

Hybrid prototype is able to gain the first hundred “in just five seconds and a top speed of only 20 km / h below the” ceiling “of the new hot hatch Honda Civic Type R and is 250 km / h.

Traction capacity lithium battery is 10.7 kW • h. According to the manufacturer, it is enough to reserve 50 kilometers solely on electricity or 1,200 kilometers in hybrid mode. Stated passport fuel consumption in combined mode is two liters per 100 kilometers.

Along with the new design and advanced propulsion, Volkswagen offered together with the concept of the so-called biometric navigation. It works in conjunction with a special bracelet or “smart” watch that real-time transmit physiological parameters of the car driver.

For rear passengers is provided 12.3-inch touch screen, with that controls the climate and multimedia system. In addition, on the backside of the front seats are located 10.1-inch monitors.

When a motorist chooses navigator destination, electronic “brain” of the system selects several possible routes according to the physical condition, such as a simple trip to the soothing and sophisticated – for an invigorating arrival.
