Here's the new nomenclature of Mercedes models

We already knew that Mercedes models were up to a change of nomenclature for their models. The advent of increasingly difficult for the body was placed on the end customer, and therefore wanted to unify their models, new and existing segments, removing any doubt about what corresponds to what.

These are the Class A, Class C, Class E and Class S. All this, of course, may have special bodies such as family or coupe, like the group of SUVs, starting with GLE Coupe that will compete with the BMW X6.

As far as sports and convertibles are concerned, only the Mercedes SL retains its name, according to Mercedes for what it represents and its history. Whoever loses his name is the SLK, a household name as they come, which will be renamed Mercedes SLC, referring to Class C from which it derives.

On the other side are the CLA and CLS, which kept its name as a 4-door sedan coupe. However, Mercedes models wished to take the opportunity to update the name of their mechanical, giving new names to each of the versions to ease again to know what model we are.
