Volvo has had time to refine not yet released a hybrid XC90

Swedish automaker revealed the full specifications of the hybrid version of the new crossover XC90 T8 Twin Engine, which the company modestly called “the most powerful and environmentally friendly” in its class. However, according to the declared figures, Swedes are not far from the truth.

Of course, calling the XC90 the most powerful in its class, a little hasty Volvo 407 hp and 640 Nm of torque, which gives a new hybrid propulsion system Twin Engine, – the result is impressive, but the champion. But consumption and emissions, which are provided with such power, really impressive. Claimed fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 2,1l / 100 km and CO2 emissions do not exceed 49g per kilometer. Moreover, the electric go without ICE crossover is able to overcome 43 kilometers.

The hybrid propulsion system consists of a seven-seat crossover 320-horsepower gasoline engine of a new family Drive-E and 87-horsepower electric motor. To disperse hundreds took the hybrid 5.6 seconds. Interestingly, the original manufacturer has not announced such prominent figures: to disperse hundreds of 5.9 seconds and a fuel consumption of 2.5 liters / 100 km. However, from the moment of the hybrid we had more work and improve performance.

There are five hybrid modes: standard hybrid mode the default mode of all-electric travel mode Power setting for maximum performance mode, permanent four-wheel drive mode and Save, where battery power is not consumed.

Sales of hybrid XC90 will start in Europe in May this year.
