Last weekend, BMW presented a prototype motorcycle Concept 101. The premiere took place at the Competition Elegance Villa d’Este, Italy.
In the company say that the development has caused the motorcycle division of BMW association to travel across America – the endless “highways”, as well as a sense of freedom and independence. The BMW acknowledge that the motorcycle with a concept the company has not yet created. «Concept 101 embodies the elegance, power and luxury on two wheels,” – said the head of BMW Motorrad, Edgar Heinrich.
The number 101 in the title of the prototype means two things – the amount of installed on the motorcycle row “Six” in cubic inches (1649 cm 3) and Highway 101 – that it is a California studio Designworks, which took an active part in the work on the concept.
The bike is made in the style popular in the US, “Bagger” – its features are an elongated teardrop-shaped silhouette and a massive back with wardrobe trunks. The decoration concept applied aluminum, carbon, precious woods and leather.
Prospects for serial production and technical parameters of the prototype is not specified.
Note that another premiere at the BMW Competition elegance of Villa d’Este was a conceptual coupe 3.0 CSL Hommage, dedicated to the eponymous model since the 1970s.
