The PORSCHE will teach CRUISE CONTROL TURNING

Today, even a fully autonomous vehicle will surprise nobody – experimental cars without drivers already being dissected by the United States. The Porsche found a middle ground, and taught the cruise control system is not only to maintain the set speed, but drive in turns.

The German manufacturer is testing prototypes of the iconic sports car, which installed the system perspective InnoDrive. This is a very advanced active cruise control, which allows, together with the set speed and distance to the vehicle ahead on their own turn. Moreover, according to some data, test samples Porsche makes it quite cheerfully.

The system is able to fill Innodrive car in bends, where the transverse load does not exceed the value of 0,5-0,7g. Approaching the turn, the system will determine the safe speed entering the turn. The driver has the discretion to use the advanced cruise control and can completely disable the autonomous taxiing. The Porsche says that the technology Innodrive “increases the efficiency of the engine and slightly reduces the travel time.”

In other words, vehicles with “autopilot” will be able to provide a minimum level of braking, the car did not lose pace in the corners. By the way, the system should not get crazy even on multi-lane highway with a complex layout.

It would be interesting to scout the new Porsche design details, but more in-depth technical information about it, unfortunately, is no.
