Although these days the focus is in the US, the LA Auto Show in China is also celebrating the Motor Show in Guangzhou, where they are also presenting some interesting news, especially for the Chinese market. Kia aims to raise ground in this important market and therefore has the Kia KX3 concept, a very close prototype as might be the definitive model of the new C-segment SUV exclusive to China.


Thus the Chinese joint-venture of Kia, Dongfeng Yueda Kia anticipates a new SUV of 4.26 inches long, 1.76 wide and 1.63 high, with a wheelbase of 2.59 meters. Today would be the smallest crossover brand, located below the successful Kia Sportage. The carrier would provide space for five passengers and luggage has a capacity of 400 liters.

In paragraph aesthetic concept KX3 Kia gets a mix of sporty while sturdy, following a line similar to that of the new Kia Sorento, the reference SUV brand. Benefits are entrusted to a 1.6-liter gasoline turbocharged direct injection (T-GDI) associated to a dual-clutch automatic gearbox with seven speeds and an intelligent AWD system.


Despite being a small car Kia KX3 concept certainly looking for a premium positioning with this model, which the brand is designed to get the highest score in tests of Chinese crash and enjoy high-quality interior where equipment and connectivity are key parts. The brand has not yet confirmed the production of this model.
