In the field of electric vehicles Renault-Nissan Alliance is leading with over 200,000 units sold, representing 58% of the market for zero emission cars. It is estimated that electric vehicles sold by Renault and Nissan has traveled 4,000 million kilometers, saving 200 million liters of fuel and leaving issue, directly, 450 million kilos of CO2 into the atmosphere. The distance is sufficient to 100,000 times around the world and it is possible to fill 80 Olympic swimming pools of fuel. Who’s had to feed a good V8.

The unit number 200,000 was sold in early November, this being a Nissan Leaf. In the first 10 months of the year, the alliance has sold 66,500 electric cars, up 20% over the same period in 2013. Two out of three electrical sold in the world belong to the Renault and Nissan brands. Of the total, 148,700 units correspond to Nissan, virtually all the Leaf. Since its launch 67,000 have been sold in the US, 46,500 in Japan and 31,000 in Europe.

United States and Japan are the main consumer markets for electric cars, where the Nissan Leaf is the favorite. Help the dissemination of these cars the wide charging network, with 750 quick chargers in the first case and 2,900 in the second, with big plans for expansion. The Renault-Nissan Alliance sold six electric vehicles and is the only manufacturer to offer a complete range covering the main segments. So the range is formed by the compact Nissan Leaf and e-NV200 van by the Japanese firm and the Twizy, ZOE, Renault Kangoo ZE and Fluence ZE (the latter only on sale in Korea as Samsung).


Renault is the leading brand electric vehicles distributor in Europe, with France, Germany and UK head. Copan 31% of the market, with the Renault ZOE the most successful model with a 23% market share.
